Dua Hareeq

From Sahifa Fatima (sa) dua 12

بِسْمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ إِنّي أَصْبَحْتُ اُشْهِدُكَ وَكَفى بِكَ شَهِيداً

allaahumma innee asbahto ush-hedoka wa kafaa beka shaheedan,

O Allah! I have dawned while I hold You witness and You are sufficient for me as a Witness,

وَاُشْهِدُ مَلائِكَتَكَ وَحَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ

wa ush-hedo malaa-ekataka wa hamalata a’rsheka,

and I hold as witnesses for me all the angels and the bearers of Your Throne

وَسُكَّانَ سَبْعِ سَماواتِكَ وَأَرَضيكَ

wa sukkaana sab-e’ samaawaateka wa arzeeka,

and the dwellers of the Seven Heavens and Your Earths

وَأَنْبِياءَكَ وَرُسُلَكَ

wa anbeyaa-aka wa rosolaka

and Your Prophets and Your Messengers

وَوَرَثَةَ أَنْبِياءِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ

wa warasata anbeyaa-eka wa rosoleka,

and the Successors of Your Prophets and Messengers

وَالصَّالِحينَ مِنْ عِبادِكَ وَجَميعَ خَلْقِكَ

was saaleheena min e’baadeka, wa jamee-a’ khalqeka.

and the noblemen from Your servants and all the creation.

فَاشْهَدْ لي وَكَفى بِكَ شَهيداً

fash-had lee – wa kafaa beka shaheedan –

Thus bear witness for me and suffice me as a Witness

أَنّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللهُ لا إِلهَ إِلّا أَنْتَ

annee ash-hado annaka antal laaho laa elaaha illaa antal

that I bear witness that verily You are Allah, there is no God except You,

الْمَعْبُودُ وَحْدَكَ لا شَريكَ لَكَ

ma’boodo wahdaka laa shareeka laka,

You alone are worshipped, and You don’t have a partner,

وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

wa anna mohammadan (s.a.w.a.)

and that Mohammad (peace be upon him and his progeny)

عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ

a’bdoka wa rasooloka

is Your Servant and Messenger,

وَأَنَّ كُلَّ مَعْبُودٍ مِمَّا دُونَ عَرْشِكَ إِلى قَرارِ أَرْضِكَ السَّابِعَةِ

wa anna kulla ma’boodin mimmaa doona a’rsheka elaa qaraare arzekas saa-be-a’tis

and that all those who are worshipped between Your Throne and the surface of Your seven Earths,

السُّفْلى باطِلٌ مُضْمَحِلٌّ ما خَلا وَجْهَكَ الْكَريمَ

baatelun muzmahillun maa khalaa wajhekal

are all invalid and void except for Your Self.

فَإِنَّهُ أَعَزُّ وَأَكْرَمُ وَأَجَلُّ وَأَعْظَمُ

hu a-a’zzo wa akramo, wa ajallo wa

Indeed He is much glorious, mightier, and greater

مِنْ أَنْ يَصِفَ الْواصِفُونَ كُنْهَ جَلالِهِ

yasefal waasefoona kunha ja

than what the describers describe as His True Glory

أَوْ تَهْتَدِيَ الْقُلُوبُ إِلى كُنْهِ عَظَمَتِهِ

adeyal qoloobo elaa kunhe a’z

or to which the hearts guide as His True Greatness

يا مَنْ فاقَ مَدْحَ الْمادِحينَ فَخْرُ مَدْحِهِ

faaqa madhal maadeheena fakhro

O’ He whose Praise is much more valuable than the exaltation of the exalters,

وَعَدا وَصْفَ الْواصِفينَ مَآثِرُ حَمْدِهِ

a wasfal waasefeena ma-aasero

and His true appraisal has surpassed the description of the describers,

وَجَلَّ عَنْ مَقالَةِ النَّاطِقينَ تَعْظيمُ شَأْنِهِ

a a’n maqaalatin naateqeena ta’zeemo s

and the Honour of His Magnificence is higher than the speech of the speakers,

صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

’laa mohammadin wa

bless Mohammad and his holy progeny,

وَافْعَلْ بِنا ما أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

benaa maa anta

and do with me what You are worthy of,

يا أَهْلَ التَّقْوى وَأَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

at taqwaa wa ahlal ma

O’ He who is Worthy of Piety and Forgiveness.

(Repeat last portion 3 times )
Recite this part eleven times

لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَريكَ لَهُ

laa elaaha illal laaho wahdahu laa shareeka lahu,

There is no God but Allah alone, He has no Partner,

سُبْحانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

subhaanal laahe wa be-hamdehi

Glorified is Allah and with His Praise,

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

astaghferul laaha wa atoobo elayhe,

I seek Forgiveness from Allah, and turn towards Him,

ما شاءَ اللهُ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلّا بِاللهِ

maa shaa-al laaho, wa laa quwwata illaa billaah,

hatever He wishes takes place, there is no Power except Allah,

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْباطِنُ

howal awwalo wal aakhero waz zaahero wal baateno,

He is the First and the Apparent and the Hidden,

لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ

lahul mulko wa lahul hamdo,

the Kingdom belongs to Him alone and all Praises are due to Him,

يُحْيي وَيُميتُ وَيُميتُ وَيُحْيي

yohyee wa yomeeto wa yomeeto wa yohyee

He gives life and death, and gives death and life,

وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لايَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ

wa howa hayyun laa yamooto, be-yadehil khayro

He is the Living who never dies, in His hands is all Good,

وَهُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَديرٌ

wa howa a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer

and He has Power over all things.

Then say eleven times :

سُبْحانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ للهِِ وَلا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ

subhaanal laahe wal hamdo lillaahe, wa laa elaaha illal laaho wal laaho akbaro

“Glorious is Allah, and there is no God but Allah, and Allah is Great,

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

astaghferul laaha wa atoobo elayhe,

I seek forgiveness from Allah and return towards Him,

ما شاءَ اللهُ لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلّا بِاللهِ

maa shaa-al laaho, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil

what Allah wishes happens, the is no movement and no power except by Allah,

الْحَليمِ الْكَريمِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظيمِ

haleemil kareemil a’liyyil a’zeemir,

the forbearing, the Generous, the Sublime, the Great,

الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ الْحَقِّ الْمُبينِ

rahmaanir raheemil malekil quddoosil haqqil mobeene,

the Beneficent, the Merciful, the Ruler, the Sanctified, the Truth, the Apparent,

عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ

a’dada khalqehi, wa zenata a’rshehi,

this praise is as many as His creations and as much as the weight of His Throne

وَمِلْأَ سَماواتِهِ وَأَرَضيهِ

wa mil-a samaawaatehi wa arazehi,

and the space of His Heavens and His Earths,

وَعَدَدَ ما جَرى بِهِ قَلَمُهُ وَأَحْصاهُ كِتابُهُ

wa a’dada maa jaraa behi qalamohu wa ahsaaho ketaabohu,

and as much as what has been written by His Pen, and What Has been embraced by His Book

وَمِدادُ كَلِماتِهِ وَرِضا نَفْسِهِ

wa medaada kalemaatehi wa rezaaho le-nafsehi.

and as many as His words and as per His Satisfaction of Himself.

Then say :

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُبارَكينَ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa ahle baytehil mobaarakeena,

O’ Allah! Send Your blessings upon Mohammad and his holy household,

وَصَلِّ عَلى جَبْرَئيلَ وَميكائيلَ وَإِسْرافيلَ

wa salle a’laa jibra-eela wa meekaa-eela wa israafeela

and bless Jibrael and Mika’eel and Israfeel,

وَحَمَلَةِ عَرْشِكَ أَجْمَعينَ وَالْمَلائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبينَ

wa hamalate a’rsheka ajma-e’ena, wal malaa-ekatil moqarrabeena.

and all the bearers of Your Throne, and Your Archangels.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى تُبَلِّغَهُمُ الرِّضا

allaahumma salle a’layhim jamee-a’n hattaa toballeghohomur rezaa

O’ Allah, send Your blessings upon them until You deliver Your Satisfaction to them,

وَتَزيدَهُمْ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa tazeedahum ba’dar rezaa mimma anta ahlohu,

and exceed them after Satisfaction with what You are Worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all the Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his holy Progeny,

وَصَلِّ عَلى مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ وَأَعْوانِهِ

wa salle a’laa malakil mawte wa a-a’waanehi,

and send your blessings upon the Angel of Death and his helpers,

وَصَلِّ عَلى رِضْوانَ وَخَزَنَةِ الْجِنانِ

wa salle a’laa rizwaana wa khazanatil jenaane,

and bless Ridwaan and the treasurers of Your Heavens.

وَصَلِّ عَلى مالِكٍ وَخَزَنَةِ النّيرانِ

wa salle a’laa maalekin wa khazanatin neeraane,

And bless Malik and the treasurers of Hell.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى تُبَلِّغَهُمُ الرِّضا

allaahumma salle a’layhim hattaa toballeghahomur rezaa,

O’ Allah! Bless them until You deliver Your Pleasure to them,

وَتَزيدَهُمْ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa tazeedahum ba’dar rezaa mimmaa anta ahlohu

and exceed them after Your Satisfaction with what You are worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all the Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى الْكِرامِ الْكاتِبينَ

allaahumma salle a’lal hafazatil keraamil kaatebeena,

O’ Allah! Bless the Noble Angels who are writers,

وَالسَّفَرَةِ الْكِرامِ الْبَرَرَةِ

was safaratil keraamil bararate,

and the honourable ambassadors,

وَالْحَفَظَةِ لِبَني آدَمَ

wal hafazate le-banee aadama,

and the protectors of Bani Adam,

وَصَلِّ عَلى مَلائِكَةِ الْهَواءِ وَالسَّماواتِ الْعُلى

wa salle a’laa malaa-ekatil hawaa-e was-samawaatil-ula

and bless the Angel of wind and the Highly Heavens,

وَمَلائِكَةِ الْأَرَضينَ السُّفْلى

wa malaa-ekatil arzeenas suflaa

and the angels of the lowly Earths,

وَمَلائِكَةِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهارِ

wa malaa-ekatil layle wan nahaare,

and the Angels of the night and day,

وَالْأَرْضِ وَالْأَقْطارِ

wal arze wal aqtaare

and the Earth and the shores,

وَالْبِحارِ وَالْأَنْهارِ

wal behaare wal anhaare,

and the oceans and rivers,

وَالْبَراري وَالْفَلَواتِ وَالْقِفارِ

wal baraaree wal falawaate wal qefaare,

and the barren deserts and plains,

وَصَلِّ عَلى مَلائِكَتِكَ الَّذينَ أَغْنَيْتَهُمْ

wa salle a’laa malaa-ekatekal lazeena aghnaytahum

and bless Your Angels whom You have made needless

عَنِ الطَّعامِ وَالشَّرابِ بِتَسْبيحِكَ

a’nit ta-a’ame wash sharaabe be-tasbeeheka

of food and drink by means of Your glorification

وَتَقْديسِكَ وَعِبادَتِكَ

wa taqdeeseka wa e’baadeka.

and exaltation and worship.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى تُبَلِّغَهُمُ الرِّضا

allaahumma salle a’layhim hattaa toballeghahomur rezaa,

O’ Allah, bless them until You deliver Your Satisfaction to them,

وَتَزيدَهُمْ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa tazeedahum ba’dar rezaa mimmaa anta ahlohu,

and exceed them after Your Satisfaction with what You are Worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

O’ Allah, bless Mohammad and his holy Progeny,

وَصَلِّ عَلى أَبينا آدَمَ وَاُمِّنا حَوَّاءَ

wa salle a’laa abeenaa aadama wa ummenaa hawwaa-a

and bless Our Father Adam, and our Mother Hawwa,

وَما وَلَدا مِنَ النَّبيّينَ وَالصِّدّيقينَ

wa maa waladaa menan nabiyyeena was siddeeqeena

and their sons amongst the Prophets and the truthful

وَالشُّهَداءِ وَالصَّالِحينَ

wash shohadaa-e was saaleheena.

and the witnesses and the noblemen.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى تُبَلِّغَهُمُ الرِّضا

allaahumma salle a’layhim hattaa toballeghahomur rezaa,

O’ Allah, bless them until You deliver Your Satisfaction to them,

وَتَزيدَهُمْ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa tazeedahum ba’dar rezaa mimmaa anta ahlohu,

and exceed them after Your Satisfaction with what You are Worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ

allaahumma salla a’laa mohammadin wa ahle baytehit tayyebeenat taahereena,

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his holy household,

وَعَلى أَصْحابِهِ الْمُنْتَجَبينَ

wa a’laa ashaabehil muntajabeenal

and his chosen companions,

وَعَلى أَزْواجِهِ الْمُطَهَّراتِ وَعَلى ذُرِّيَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa a’laa azwaazehil motahharaate,wa a’laa zurriyyate mohammadin,

and his purified wives, and the Progeny of Mohammad,

وَعَلى كُلِّ نَبِيٍّ بَشَّرَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ

wa a’laa kulle nabiyyin bashshara be-mohammadin,

and bless all those Prophets who gave the glad tidings of Mohammad,

وَعَلى كُلِّ نَبِيٍّ وَلَدَ مُحَمَّداً

wa a’laa kulle nabiyyin waladaa mohammadan (wa a’laa kullim ra-atin saalehatin kafalat
moh

and those Prophets who were Mohammad’s ancestors,

وَعَلى كُلِّ مَنْ في صَلَواتِكَ عَلَيْهِ رِضىً لَكَ

wa a’laa kulle man fee salawaateka a’layhe rezan laka

and bless all those blessing whom will result in Your Pleasure

وَرِضىً لِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

wa rezan lenabiyyeka mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi.

and the Pleasure of Your Prophet, Mohammad (peace be upon him and his Progeny).

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى تُبَلِّغَهُمُ الرِّضا

allaahumma salle a’layhim hattaa toballeghahomur rezaa,

O’ Allah, bless them until You deliver Your Satisfaction to them,

وَتَزيدَهُمْ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa tazeedahum ba’dar rezaa mimmaa anta ahlohu,

and exceed them after Your Satisfaction with what You are Worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

Bless Mohammad and his household,

وَبارِكْ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa baarik a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

and shower Your grace upon Mohammad and his household,

وَارْحَمْ مُحَمَّداً وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

war ham mohammadan wa aala mohammadin,

and have mercy upon Mohammad and his household,

كَأَفْضَلِ ما صَلَّيْتَ وَبارَكْتَ وَتَرَحَّمْتَ

ka-afzale maa sallayta wa baarakta wa tarahhamta

with the best of the blessings, graces and mercies You have sent

عَلى إِبْراهيمَ وَآلِ إِبْراهيمَ إِنَّكَ حَميدٌ مَجيدٌ

a’laa ibraaheema wa aale ibraaheema innaka hameedun majeedun,

upon Ibrahim and Ibrahim’s Progeny, indeed You are the Praised and the Mighty.

أَللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ الْوَسيلَةَ وَالْفَضْلَ

allaahumma a-a’te mohammadan (sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi) al-waseelata wal fazla

O’ Allah! Bestow Mohammad and his Progeny with the means and the Grace,

وَالْفَضيلَةَ وَالدَّرَجَةَ الرَّفيعَةَ

wal fazeelata, wad darajatar rafee-a’ta,

and the Virtue and the Mighty Status,

وَأَعْطِهِ حَتَّى يَرْضى

wa a-a’tehi hattaa yarzaa

and bestow on them until they are satisfied,

وَزِدْهُ بَعْدَ الرِّضا مِمَّا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

wa zidho ba’dar rezaa mimmaa anta ahlohu,

and exceed after satisfaction with what You are Worthy of,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah, send blessings upon Mohammad and his household

كَما أَمَرْتَنا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ

kamaa amartanaa an nosalleya a’layhe.

just as You have commanded us to send blessings upon him.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

كَما يَنْبَغي لَنا أَنْ نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ

kamaa yanbaghee lanaa an nosalleya a’layhe.

just like it is appropriate for us to send blessings upon them.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ

be-a’date man sallaa a’layhe.

in the quantity of those who have sent blessings upon him.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ مَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

be-a’dade man lam yosalle a’layhe,

in the quantity of those who haven’t sent blessings upon him.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ كُلِّ حَرْفٍ في صَلوةٍ صُلِّيَتْ عَلَيْهِ

be-a’dade kulle harfin fee salaatin sulleyat a’layhe.

as much as every letter in the blessings that have been sent upon them.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

be-a’dade man salla a’layhe wa man lam yosalle a’layhe

as much as those who have sent blessing upon them and those who haven’t sent blessings upon them.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ كُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ وَلَفْظَةٍ وَلَحْظَةٍ وَنَفَسٍ

be-a’dade kulle sha’ratin wa lafzatin wa lahzatin wa nafsin

in the quantity of every hair and word and moment and breath

وَصِفَةٍ وَسُكُونٍ وَحَرَكَةٍ مِمَّنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ

wa sefatin, wa sokoonin wa harakatin mimman sallaa a’layhe

and attribute and stoppage and movement of those who have sent blessings upon him,

وَمِمَّنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

wa mimman lam yosalle a’layhe

and of those who haven’t sent blessings upon him,

وَبِعَدَدِ ساعاتِهِمْ وَدَقائِقِهِمْ

wa be-a’dade saa-a’atehim wa daqaa-eqehim,

and in the quantity of their hours and their minutes,

وَسُكُونِهِمْ وَحَرَكاتِهِمْ

wa sokoonehim wa harakaatehim,

and their stoppages and their movements,

وَحَقائِقِهِمْ وَميقاتِهِمْ

wa haqaa-eqehim wa meeqaatehim

and their truths and their promised places,

وَصِفاتِهِمْ وَأَيَّامِهِمْ

wa sefaatehim wa ayyaamehim,

and their characters and their days,

وَشُهُورِهِمْ وَسِنيهِمْ

wa shohoorehim wa seneenehim,

and their months and their years,

وَأَشْعارِهِمْ وَأَبْشارِهِمْ

wa ash-a’arehim wa abshaarehim,

and their hairs and their skins,

وَبِعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذَرِّ ما عَمِلُوا أَوْ يَعْمَلُونَ

wa be-a’dade zenate zarre maa a’meloo aw ya’maloona,

and as much as the weight of the particles of their deeds they have performed, or they perform

أَوْ بَلَغَهُمْ أَوْ رَأَوْا أَوْ ظَنُّوا أَوْ فَطِنُوا

aw balaghahum aw ra-aw aw zannoo aw fatenu

or which has reached them, or which they have seen, or assumed, or became aware of with their cleverness,

أَوْ كانَ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ يَكُونُ إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

aw kaana minhum aw yakoono elaa yawmil qeyaamate,

or which was enacted by them, or will be committed by them until the day of Resurrection,

وَكَأَضْعافِ ذلِكَ أَضْعافاً مُضاعَفَةً إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

wa ka-az-a’afe zaaleka az-a’afan mozaa-a’fatan elaa yawmil qeyaamate,

rather several times more than the measurement of all the things that has been mentioned until the day of Resurrection,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all the Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

بِعَدَدِ ما خَلَقْتَ وَما أَنْتَ خالِقُهُ

be-a’dade maa khalaqta wa maa anta khaaleqohu

in the quantity of all that You have created, and all Your creations

إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ صَلوةً تُرْضيهِ

elaa yawmil qeyaamate salaatan turzeehe.

until the Day of Resurrection, a blessing that will please his holiness.

أَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَالثَّناءُ وَالشُّكْرُ

allaahumma lakal hamdo was sanaa-o, wash shukro

O’ Allah, all Praises, Glorification and Gratification is for You

وَالْمَنُّ وَالْفَضْلُ وَالطَّوْلُ وَالْخَيْرُ

wal manno wal fazlo wat tawlo wal khayro

and all the Favours and Grace, and beneficence and good

وَالْحُسْنى وَالنِّعْمَةُ وَالْعَظَمَةُ وَالْجَبَرُوتُ

wal husnaa, wan ne’mato wal a’zamato, wal jabarooto

and nobility and bounty, and greatness and Majesty,

وَالْمُلْكُ وَالْمَلَكُوتُ وَالْقَهْرُ وَالسُّلْطانُ

wal mulko wal malakooto, wal qahro was sultaano

and the apparent Kingdom and the hidden Kingdom, and the Subjugation and the Dominion,

وَالْفَخْرُ وَالسُّؤْدَدُ وَالْإِمْتِنانُ وَالْكَرَمُ

wal fakhro, was soa-dado wal imtenaano, wal karamo

and the Pride and Lordship, and favour and Kindness,

وَالْجَلالُ وَالْإِكْرامُ وَالْجَمالُ وَالْكَمالُ

wal jalaalo wal ikraamo (wal jamaalo wal kamaalo)

and the Glory and Generosity, and the Beauty and Excellence,

وَالْخَيْرُ وَالتَّوْحيدُ وَالتَّمْجيدُ وَالتَّحْميدُ

wal khayro wat tawheedo, wat tamjeedo wat tahmeedo,

and the good, the Oneness, the Exaltation, the glorification,

وَالتَّهْليلُ وَالتَّكْبيرُ وَالتَّقْديسُ

wat tahleelo wat takbeero, wat taqdeeso

the appraisal, the greatness, the sanctification,

وَالرَّحْمَةُ وَالْمَغْفِرَةُ وَالْكِبْرِياءُ وَالْعَظَمَةُ

war rahmato, wal maghferato wal kibreyaa-o wal a’zamato,

the Beneficence and the Forgiveness and the Sublimity and the Virtue.

وَلَكَ ما زَكى وَطابَ وَطَهُرَ مِنَ الثَّناءِ الطَّيِّبِ

wa laka maa zakaa wa taaba wa tahora menas sanaa-it tayyebe

And for You alone is the purest, cleanest and holiest of all the noble exaltation,

وَالْمَديحِ الْفاخِرِ وَالْقَوْلِ الْحَسَنِ الْجَميلِ

wal madeehil faakhere, wal qawlil hasanil jameelil,

and valuable appraisal, and the good and beautiful saying

الَّذي تَرْضى بِهِ عَنْ قائِلِهِ

lazee tarzaa behi a’n qaa-elehi

whose speaker satisfies You

وَتُرْضِيَ بِهِ قائِلَهُ وَهُوَ رِضىً لَكَ

wa turzee behi qaa-elahu, wa howa rezan laka.

and who is satisfied from You, which results in Your Pleasure.

يَتَّصِلُ حَمْدي بِحَمْدِ أَوَّلِ الْحامِدينَ

yattaselo hamdee be-hamde awwalil haamedeena,

My Praise is connected to the Praise of the First appraisers,

وَثَنائي بِثَناءِ أَوَّلِ الْمُثْنينَ عَلى رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ

wa sanaa-ee be-sanaa-e awwalil musneena a’laa rabbil a’alameena,

and my exaltation to the first exalters of the Lord of the worlds,

مُتَّصِلاً ذلِكَ بِذلِكَ

muttaselan zaaleka be-zaaleka,

all of it connected to each other,

وَتَهْليلي بِتَهْليلِ أَوَّلِ الْمُهَلِّلينَ

wa tahleelee be-tahleele awwalil mohalleleena,

and my acclamation is connected to the first acclaimers,

وَتَكْبيري بِتَكْبيرِ أَوَّلِ الْمُكَبِّرينَ

wa takbeeree be-takbeere awwalil mokabbereena,

and my magnification is connected with the first magnifiers,

وَقَوْلِيَ الْحَسَنُ الْجَميلُ بِقَوْلِ أَوَّلِ الْقائِلينَ

wa qawlil hasanul jameelo be-qawle awwalil qaa-eleenal

and my beautiful saying with the first exquisite speakers,

الْمُجْمِلينَ الْمُثْنينَ عَلى رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ

mujmeleenal musneena a’laa rabbil a’alameena

the exalters of the Lord of the worlds,

مُتَّصِلاً ذلِكَ بِذلِكَ

muttaselan zaaleka be-zaaleka

each one of which is connected with one another,

مِنْ أَوَّلِ الدَّهْرِ إِلى آخِرِهِ

min awwalid dahre elaa aakherehi,

from the beginning of time till the end.

وَبِعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذَرِّ السَّماواتِ وَالْأَرَضينَ

wa be-a’dade zenate zarris samaawaate wal arazeena

And as much as the weight of the particles of the heavens and the Earths,

وَالرِّمالِ وَالتِّلالِ وَالْجِبالِ

war remaale wat telaale wal jebaale,

the pebbles and the plateaus and the mountains,

وَعَدَدِ جُرَعِ ماءِ الْبِحارِ

wa a’dade jora-e’ maa-il behaare,

and many as the gulps of seawater,

وَعَدَدِ قَطْرِ الْأَمْطارِ

wa a’dade qatril amtaare,

and as many as the raindrops,

وَوَرَقِ الْأَشْجارِ وَعَدَدِ النُّجُومِ

wa waraqil ashjaare wa a’dadin nojoome,

and as many as the leaves of trees, and as many as the stars,

وَعَدَدِ الثَّرى وَالْحَصى وَالنَّوى وَالْمَدَرِ

wa a’dadis saraa, wal hasaa wan nawaa wal madare,

and as many as the dust particles and the pebbles and the grains and the atoms,

وَعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذلِكَ كُلِّهِ

wa a’dade zenate zaaleka kullehi,

and as much as the weight of all of them,

وَعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذَرِّ السَّماواتِ وَالْأَرَضينَ

wa a’dade zenate zarris samaawaate wal arazeena,

and the weight of the particles of the heavens and the earths,

وَما فيهِنَّ وَما بَيْنَهُنَّ وَما تَحْتَهُنَّ

wa maa feehinna wa maa baynahunna, wa maa tahtahunna,

and that which lies in them and between them and below them,

وَما بَيْنَ ذلِكَ وَما فَوْقَهُنَّ إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

wa maa bayna zaaleka wa maa fawqahunna elaa yawmil qeyaamate

and between them and above them till the Day of Resurrection,

مِنْ لَدُنِ الْعَرْشِ إِلى قَرارِ أَرْضِكَ السَّابِعَةِ السُّفْلى

min ladonil a’rshe elaa qaraare arzekas saa-be-a’tis suflaa.

from the Divine Throne to Your lowly seven earths,

وَبِعَدَدِ حُرُوفِ أَلْفاظِ أَهْلِهِنِّ

wa be-a’dade horoofe alfaaze ahlehinna,

and as many as the letters of the words of their dwellers,

وَعَدَدِ أَزْمانِهِمْ وَدَقائِقِهِمْ

wa a’dade azmaanehim wa daqaa-yeqehim

and as many as their times and their minutes

وَشَعائِرِهِمْ وَساعاتِهِمْ

wa sha-a’a-erehim wa saa-a’atehim,

and their signs and their hours

وَأَيَّامِهِمْ وَشُهُورِهِمْ وَسِنيهِمْ

wa ayyaamehim wa shohoorehim wa seneenehim,

and their days, and their months and their years,

وَسُكُونِهِمْ وَحَرَكاتِهِمْ

wa sokoonehim wa harakaatehim

and their stoppages and their movements,

وَأَشْعارِهِمْ وَأَبْشارِهِمْ

wa ash-a’arehim wa absharehim,

and their hairs and skins.

وَعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذَرِّ ما عَمِلُوا أَوْ يَعْمَلُونَ

wa be-a’dade zenate maa a’meloo aw ya’maloona,

And as much as the weight of the particles of the deeds they have performed or are performing

أَوْ بَلَغَهُمْ أَوْ رَأَوْا أَوْ ظَنُّوا أَو فَطِنُوا

aw balaghahum aw ra-aw aw zannoo, aw fatanoo,

or which had reached them, or which they have witnessed or assumed or gained awareness with cleverness,

أَوْ كانَ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ يَكُونُ إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

aw kaana minhum aw yakoono zaaleka elaa yawmil qeyaamate.

or was performed by them or will be performed till the Day of Resurrection,

وَعَدَدِ زِنَةِ ذَرِّ ذلِكَ وَأَضْعافِ ذلِكَ

wa be-a’dade zenate zaaleka, wa az-a’afe zaaleka,

and as much as the weight of all of them and many more times their weight,

وَكَأَضْعافِ ذلِكَ أَضْعافاً مُضاعَفَةً لايَعْلَمُها

wa ka-az-a’afe zaaleka az-a’afan mozaa-a’fatan laa ya’lamohaa

and several times all of them such that none except You

وَلايُحْصيها غَيْرُكَ يا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرامِ

wa laa yoh-seehaa ghayroka, yaa zal jalaale wal ikraame,

shall be able to have knowledge of it and calculate it, O’ Glorious and Dignified,

وَأَهْلُ ذلِكَ أَنْتَ وَمُسْتَحِقُّهُ

wa ahlo zaaleka anta wa mustahiqqohu

You are worthy of it, and deserve it

وَمُسْتَوْجِبُهُ مِنّي وَمِنْ جَميعِ خَلْقِكَ

wa mus-taw-jebohu minnee wa min jamee-e’ khalqeka

and it is appropriate for Your Threshold, these praises are only for You, from me and all Your creations,

يا بَديعَ السَّمواتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

yaa badee-a’s samaawaate wal-arze

O’ Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.

أَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ بِرَبٍّ اسْتَحْدَثْناكَ

allaahumma! innaka lasta be-rabbin istahdasnaaka,

O’ Allah! You are not the Lord whom we have called recently,

وَلا مَعَكَ إِلهٌ فَيَشْرَكَكَ في رُبُوبِيَّتِكَ

wa laa ma-a’ka elaahun fee roboobiyyateka,

and there is no God alongside You who will share Your Divinity,

وَلا مَعَكَ إِلهٌ أَعانَكَ عَلى خَلْقِنا

wa laa ma-a’ka elaahun a-a’anaka a’laa khalqenaa.

and there is no God alongside You who has helped You in our creation,

أَنْتَ رَبُّنا كَما تَقُولُ وَفَوْقَ ما يَقُولُ الْقائِلُونَ

anta rabbonaa kamaa naqoolo, wa fawqa maa yaqoolul qaa-eloona.

You are our Lord just as You say and are Superior to all that the speakers say.

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

as-aloka an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

I beseech You to bless Mohammad and his holy household,

وَأَنْ تُعْطِيَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

wa an to’teya mohammadan sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi

and to bestow Mohammad and his progeny

أَفْضَلَ ما سَأَلَكَ وَأَفْضَلَ ما سُئِلْتَ

afzala maa sa-alaka, wa afzala maa so-ilta,

with the best of what is asked from You, and the best of that which be asked from You

وَأَفْضَلَ ما أَنْتَ مَسْؤُولٌ لَهُ إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

wa afzala maa anta mas-oolun lahu elaa yawmil qeyaamate.

and the best of what you are responsible for till the Day of Resurrection.

اُعيذُ أَهْلَ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

o-e’ezo ahla bayte nabiyyee mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi,

I submit Prophet Mohammad’s household (peace be upon him and his progeny)

وَنَفْسي وَديني وَذُرِّيَّتي وَمالي

wa nafsee wa deenee wa zurriyyatee wa maalee,

and myself and my religion and my lineage and my wealth

وَوَلَدي وَأَهْلي وَقَراباتي وَأَهْلَ بَيْتي

wa waladee wa ahlee, wa qaraabaatee wa ahla baytee

and my son and my family and my relatives and my household

وَكُلَّ ذي رَحِمٍ لي دَخَلَ فِي الْإِسْلامِ

wa kulla zee rahemin lee dakhala fil islaame,

and all those relatives who have entered Islam,

أَوْ يَدْخُلُ إِلى يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ

aw yad-kholo elaa yawmil qeyaamate,

or will enter it till the Day of Resurrection,

وَحُزانَتي وَخاصَّتي

wa hozaanatee wa khaassatee

and my family members and my dear ones,

وَمَنْ قَلَّدَني دُعاءً أَوْ أَسْدى إِلَيَّ يَداً

wa man qalladanee do-a’a-an, aw asdaa elayya yadan,

and all those who have made me responsible for supplicating for them and have treated me with good behaviour,

أَوْ رَدَّ عَنّي غَيْبَةً أَوْ قالَ فِيَّ خَيْراً

aw radda a’nnee ghaybatan, aw qaala fiyya khayran,

or have refrained from backbiting me, or have said anything good about me,

أَوِ اتَّخَذْتُ عِنْدَهُ يَداً أَوْ صَنيعَةً

awit takhazto i’ndahu yadan aw sanee-a’tan,

or the ones from whom I have sought help or a work,

وَجيراني وَ إِخْواني مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْمُؤْمِناتِ

wa jeeraanee wa ikhwaanee menal moameneena wal moamenaat.

and my neighbours and my brothers from the faithful men and women,

بِاللهِ وَبِأَسْمائِهِ التَّامَّةِ الْعامَّةِ الشَّامِلَةِ الْكامِلَةِ الطَّاهِرَةِ الْفاضِلَةِ الْمُبارَكَةِ الْمُتَعالِيَةِ الزَّاكِيَةِ الشَّريفَةِ الْمَنيعَةِ الْكَريمَةِالْعَظيمَةِ الْمَخْزُونَةِ الْمَكْنُونَةِ

billaahe wa be-asmaa-ehit taammatil a’ammatish, shaamelatil, kaamelatit, taaheratil faazelatil mobaarakatil mota-a’aleyatiz, zaakeyatish shareefatil manee-a’til kareematil, a’zeematil makhzoonatil maknoonatil,

with the help of Allah and His complete, general, overcoming, absolute, pure, gracious, holy, lofty, clean and pure, noble, preventing, kind, great, hidden and treasured Names.

الَّتي لايُجاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَلا فاجِرٌ

latee laa yojaawezohunna barrun wa laa faajerun,

which cannot be surpassed by the noble and the wicked,

وَبِاُمِّ الْكِتابِ وَخاتِمَتِهِ

wa be-ummil ketaabe wa khaatematehi

and by the Ummul Kitaab (Suratul Hamd) and it’s concluder,

وَما بَيْنَهُما مِنْ سُورَةٍ شَريفَةٍ وَآيَةٍ مُحْكَمَةٍ وَشِفاءٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ وَعَوْذَةٍ وَبَرَكَةٍ

wa maa baynahomaa min sooratin shareefatin, wa aayatin mohkamatin, wa shefaa-in wa rahmatin, wa a’wzatin wa barakatin.

and all those holy chapters, evident verses, cure and mercy, refuge and grace, which lie between the two;

وَبِالتَّوْريةِ وَالْإِنْجيلِ وَالزَّبُورِ وَالْفُرْقانِ

wa abit-tawraate wal injeele, waz zaboore wal furqaane

and by the Torah and the Gospel and the Pslams and the Furqaan

وَصُحُفِ إِبْراهيمَ وَمُوسى

wa sohofe Ibraaheema wa Moosaa,

and the Books of Ibrahim and Moses,

وَبِكُلِّ كِتابٍ أَنْزَلَهُ اللهُ

wa be-kulle ketaabin anzalahul laaho,

and through all the books sent down by Allah,

وَبِكُلِّ رَسُولٍ أَرْسَلَهُ اللهُ

wa be-kulle rasoolin arsala-hullaho

and through all the Messenger sent by Allah,

وَبِكُلِّ حُجَّةٍ أَقامَهَا اللهُ

wa be-kulle hujjatin aqaamahal laaho,

and through all the Argument made by Allah,

وَبِكُلِّ بُرْهانٍ أَظْهَرَهُ اللهُ

wa be-kulle burhaanin azharahul laaho,

and through all the Proofs made evident by Allah,

وَبِكُلِّ نُورٍ أَنارَهُ اللهُ

wa be-kulle noorin anaarahul laaho

and through all the Light illuminated by Allah,

وَبِكُلِّ آلاءِ اللهِ وَعَظَمَتِهِ

wa be-kulle aalaa-il laahe wa a’zamatehi.

and through all the bounties of Allah and His Virtue.

اُعيذُ وَأَسْتَعيذُ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذِي شَرٍّ

o-e’ezo, wa as-ta-e’ezo min sharre kulle zee sharrin,

I seek refuge from the evil of all the evil people,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما أَخافُ وَأَحْذَرُ

wa min sharre maa akhaafo wa ahzaro.

and from the evil of what I fear and distance from,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما رَبّي مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ

wa min sharre maa rabbee minho akbaro,

and from the evil of all that my Lord is greater than it,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَةِ الْعَرَبِ وَالْعَجَمِ

wa min sharre fasaqatil arabe wal ajam

and from the evil of the sinners of the Arabs and the non-Arabs,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَةِ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ

wa min sharre fasaqatil jinne wal inse,

and from the evil of the sinners from the Jinn and the Humans

وَالشَّياطينِ وَالسَّلاطينِ

wash shayaateena was salaateena,

and the Satans and the Kings,

وَإِبْليسَ وَجُنُودِهِ وَأَشْياعِهِ وَأَتْباعِهِ

wa ibleesa wa jonoodehi wa ash-yaa-e’hi wa atbaa-e’hi,

and the Iblees and his army and his friends and followers,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما فِي النُّورِ وَالظُّلْمَةِ

wa min sharre maa fin noore waz zulmate,

and from the evil of that which lies in the Light and the darkness,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما دَهَمَ أَوْ هَجَمَ أَوْ أَلَمَّ

wa min sharre maa dahema aw hajama aw alamma.

and from the evil of those happenings which attack and sadden the humans,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ غَمٍّ وَهَمٍّ

wa min sharre kulle ghammin wa hammin,

and from the evil of all the sorrows and sadness

وَآفَةٍ وَنَدَمٍ وَنازِلَةٍ وَسَقَمٍ

wa aafatin wa nadamin, wa naazelatin wa suqmin,

and regrets and difficulties and diseases,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما يَحْدُثُ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهارِ

wa min sharre maa yahdoso fil layle wan nahaare,

and from the evil of that which occurs in the night and the day,

وَتَأْتي بِهِ الْأَقْدارُ

wa taatee behil aqdaaro,

and that which is destined,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِي النَّارِ

wa min sharre maa fin naare

and from the evil of that which lies in fire,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما فِي الْأَرَضينَ وَالْأَقْطارِ

wa min sharre maa fil arze wal aqtaare

and from the evil of that which lies in the Earths and the shores

وَالْفَلَواتِ وَالْقِفارِ وَالْبِحارِ وَالْأَنْهارِ

wal falawaate wal qefaare, wal behaare wal anhaare.

and the deserts and the barren lands and seas and rivers,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ الْفُسَّاقِ وَالْفُجَّارِ وَالْكُهَّانِ

wa min sharril fussaaqe wal fujjaare, wal koh-haane,

and from the evil of the lewd and the wrongdoers and the foretellers

وَالسُّحَّارِ وَالْحُسَّادِ وَالذُّعَّارِ وَالْأَشْرارِ

was soh-haare, wal hussaade waz zo’-a’are, wal ash-raare,

and the sorcerers and the jealous people and the spreaders of fear and the evildoers,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ ما يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَما يَخْرُجُ مِنْها

wa min sharre maa yalejo fil arze wa maa yakhrojo minhaa

and from the evil of all that goes inside the earth and which comes out of it,

وَما يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَما يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْها

wa maa yanzelo menas samaa-e wa maa ya’rojo elayhaa,

and which falls from the sky and which rises towards it,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذي شَرٍّ

wa min sharre kulle zee sharrin,

and from the evil of all the evildoers,

وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دابَّةٍ رَبّي آخِذٌ بِناصِيَتِها

wa min sharre kulle daabbatin rabbee aakhezun be-naaseyatehaa

and from the evil of all the movers who will be caught by my Lord,

إِنَّ رَبّي عَلى صِراطٍ مُسْتَقيمٍ

inna rabbee a’laa seraatin mustaqeemin

indeed my Lord is on the straight Path,

فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللهُ

fa-in tawallaw faqul hasbeyal laaho

then if they turn away from it, say that Allah suffices me,

لا إِلهَ إِلّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ

laa elaaha illaa howa a’layhe tawakkalto

there is no God but He, I rely upon Him

وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظيمِ

wa howa rabbul a’rshil a’zeem.

and He is the Lord of the Vast Throne.

وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْغَمِّ

wa a-o’ozo beka allaahumma menal hamme

And I seek shelter in You, O’ Allah, from the sorrow and grief

وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ

wal huzne wal a’jze wal kasale, wal jubne wal bukhle,

and sadness, and from incapability and weariness, from fear and stinginess,

وَمِنْ ضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجالِ

wa min zala-i’d dayne, wa ghalabatir rejaale,

and from the difficulties of loans and dominance of men,

وَمِنْ عَمَلٍ لايَنْفَعُ

wa min a’malin laaa yanfa-o’,

and from the deed which does not benefit,

وَمِنْ عَيْنٍ لاتَدْمَعُ

wa min a’ynin laa tad-ma-o’

and from the eye which does not weep,

وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لايَخْشَعُ

wa min qalbin laa yakhsha-o’,

and from the heart which is not humble,

وَمِنْ دُعاءٍ لايُسْمَعُ

wa min do-a’a-in laa yusma-o’,

and from the supplication which is not heard,

وَمِنْ نَصيحَةٍ لاتَنْجَعُ

wa min naseehatin laa tanja-o’,

and from the advice which is not effective,

وَمِنْ صَحابَةٍ لاتَرْدَعُ

wa min sahaabatin laa tar-da-o’,

and from the companions who wouldn’t be returned,

وَمِنْ إِجْماعٍ عَلى نُكْرٍ وَتَوَدُّدٍ عَلى خُسْرٍ

wa min ijmaa-i’n a’laa nukrin, wa tawaddodin a’laa khusrin,

and from the consensus on wickedness and undesirability, and from the friendship of loss,

أَوْ تَؤاخُذٍ عَلى خُبْثٍ

aw tawaakhozin a’laa khubsin,

and from impure justice,

وَمِمَّا اسْتَعاذَ مِنْهُ مَلائِكَتُكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَالْأَنْبِياءُ الْمُرْسَلُونَ وَالْأَئِمَّةُ الْمُطَهَّرُونَ وَالشُّهَداءُ وَالصَّالِحُونَ وَعِبادُكَ الْمُتَّقُونَ

wa mimmas ta-a’aza minho malaa-ekatul moqarraboona, wal ambeyaa-ul mursaloona, wal a-immatul motahharoona wash shohadaa-o was saalehoona, wa e’baadokal muttaqoona.

and from all that Your dear Angels and the Prophets who are the Messenger, and the Purified Imams, and the Martyrs and the Noblemen, and Your Pious Servants seek shelter.

وَأَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

wa as-alokal laahumma an tosalleya a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

And I beseech You, O’ Allah, to bless Mohammad and his household,

وَأَنْ تُعْطِيَني مِنَ الْخَيْرِ ما سَأَلُوا

wa an to’teyanee menal khayre maa sa-aloo,

and to grant me from the good which they ask You,

وَأَنْ تُعيذَني مِنْ شَرِّ مَا اسْتَعاذُوا

wa an to-e’ezanee min sharre mas ta-a’azoo,

and to protect me from the evil of that which they seek protection from,

وَأَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ عاجِلِهِ وآجِلِهِ

wa as-alokal laahumma menal khayre kullehi, a’ajelehi

and I ask You, O’ Allah, from all the good with quickness and durability,

ما عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَما لَمْ أَعْلَمْ

wa aajelehi, maa a’limto minho wa maa lam a-a’lam.

from that which I know about and that which I don’t know,

وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ مِنْ هَمَزاتِ الشَّياطينِ

wa a-o’ozo beka min hamazaatish shayaateene,

and I seek refuge in You, O’ My Lord, from the satanic temptations,

وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ

wa a-o’ozo beka rabbe an yahzoroon.

and I seek shelter in You, O’ my Lord, from being presented by them.

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى أَهْلِ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

bismil laahe a’laa ahle baytin nabiyye mohammadin sallal laaho a’layhe wa aalehi.

In seek help from the name of Allah for the household of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his progeny),

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى نَفْسي وَديني

bismil laahe a’laa nafsee wa deenee,

I seek help from the name of Allah for myself and for my religion.

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى أَهْلي وَمالي

bismil laahe a’laa ahlee wa maalee.

I seek help from the name of Allah for my family and my wealth,

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ أَعْطاني رَبّي

bismillaahe a’laa kulle shay-in a-a’taanee rabbee.

I seek help from the name of Allah for all that Allah has bestowed upon me,

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى أَحِبَّتي وَوَلَدي وَقَراباتي

bismil laahe a’laa ahibbatee wa wuldee wa qaraabaatee,

I seek help from the name of Allah for my loved ones and my son and my relatives,

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى جيراني وَ إِخْواني

bismil laahe a’laa jeeraane wa ikhwaane

I seek help from the name of Allah for my neighbours and my brothers,

وَمَنْ قَلَّدَني دُعاءً أَوِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدي يَداً

wa man qalladanee do-a’a-an, awit takhaza i’ndee yadan

and for those who obligated me to supplicate for them, and for those from whom I took help,

أَوِ ابْتَدَءَ إِلَيَّ بِرّاً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْمُؤْمِناتِ

aw asdaa elayya birran, menal moameneena wal moamenaate,

or those who began to do unprecedented good for me, from the male and female believers,

بِسْمِ اللهِ عَلى ما رَزَقَني رَبّي وَيَرْزُقُني

bismil laahe a’laa maa razaqanee rabbee wa yarzoqonee

I seek help from the name of Allah for that which my Lord has bestowed upon me and bestows upon me,

بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذي لايَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلا فِي السَّماءِ

bismil laahil lazee laa yazurro ma-a’s mehi shay-un fil arze wa laa fis samaa-e

I seek help from the name of Allah with which nothing can harm me on Earth and nor in the Sky,

وَهُوَ السَّميعُ الْعَليمُ

wa howas samee-u’l a’leemo,

and He is the Hearer and the Knower.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

وَصِلْني بِجَميعِ ما سَأَلَكَ عِبادُكَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

wa silnee be-jamee-e’ maa sa-alaka e’baadokal moamenoona

and favour upon me with all that is asked from You by Your faithful servants,

أَنْ تَصِلَهُمْ بِهِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ

an taselahum behi menal khayre

so that you grant them with bounties,

وَاصْرِفْ عَنّي جَميعَ ما سَأَلَكَ عِبادُكَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

was rif a’nnee jamee-a’ maa sa-alaka e’baadokal moamenoona

and keep me away from all that You have been asked by Your faithful believers,

أَنْ تَصْرِفَهُ عَنْهُمْ مِنَ السُّوءِ وَالرَّدى

an tasrefahu a’nhum menas soo-e war radaa,

so that you keep them away from bad and lowness,

وَزِدْني مِنْ فَضْلِكَ ما أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ وَوَلِيُّهُ

wa zidnee min fazleka maa anta ahlohu wa waliyyohu,

and exceed upon me from Your Grace that which is appropriate for You and You Guardian,

يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمينَ

yaa arhamar raahemeen.

O’ the Most Merciful of all the Merciful.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa ahle baytehit tayyebeena,

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his holy Progeny,

وَعَجِّلِ اللَّهُمَّ فَرَجَهُمْ وَفَرَجي وَفَرِّجْ عَنْ كُلِّ مَهْمُومٍ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْمُؤْمِناتِ

wa a’jjil farajahum wa farajee wa farrij a’n kulle mahmoomin wa maghmoomin wa mad-yoonin menal moameneena wal moamenaat.

and hasten, O’ Allah, in their relief and my relief from all the sadness faced by the believing men and women.

أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

allaahumma salle a’laa mohammadin wa aale mohammadin,

O’ Allah! Bless Mohammad and his household

وَارْزُقْني نَصْرَهُمْ وَأَشْهِدْني أَيَّامَهُمْ

war zuqnee nasrahum, wa ash-hidnee ayyamahum,

and provide them support, and make me witness their days,

وَاجْمَعْ بَيْني وَبَيْنَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيا وَالْآخِرَةِ

waj ma’ baynee wa baynahum fid dunyaa wal akherate,

and gather me with them in this world and the hereafter,

وَاجْعَلْ مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِمْ واقِيَةً حَتَّى لايُخْلَصَ إِلَيْهِمْ إِلّا بِسَبيلِ خَيْرٍ وَعَلَيَّ مَعَهُمْ

waj a’l minka a’layhim waaqeyatan hattaa laa yakhlosa elayhim illaa be-sabeele khayrin, wa a’laa man ma-a’hum,

and place a protector from Your Threshold for them until nothing except goodness and nobility reaches them,

وَعَلى شيعَتِهِمْ وَمُحِبّيهِمْ وَعَلى أَوْلِيائِهِمْ

wa a’laa shee-a’tehim wa mohibbeehim, wa a’laa awleyaa-ehim,

and also place such guardian for me and for their Shias and their devotees and their friends

وَعَلى جَميعِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْمُؤْمِناتِ

wa a’laa jamee-i’l moameneena wal moamenaate

and for the faithful people, men and women,

فَإِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَديرٌ

fa-innaka a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.

indeed You have Power over all things.

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَبِاللهِ وَمِنَ اللهِ وَ إِلَى اللهِ

bismil laahe wa billaahe, wa menal laahe wa elal laahe,

I seek help from the name of Allah and by Allah and from Allah and towards Allah,

وَلا غالِبَ إِلّاَ اللهُ ، ما شاءَ اللهُ

wa laa ghaaleba illal laaho, maa shaa-al laaho,

and there is no dominator except Allah, what Allah wills surely happens,

لا قُوَّةَ إِلّا بِاللهِ حَسْبِيَ اللهُ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ

laa quwwata illaa billaahe, hasbeyal laaho, tawakkalto a’lal laahe,

there is no Power except by Allah, Allah is sufficient for me, I rely upon Allah,

وَاُفَوِّضُ أَمْري إِلَى اللهِ وَأَلْتَجِئُ إِلَى اللهِ

wa ofawwezo amree elal laahe wa altaje-o elal laahe,

and I have submitted my affairs to Allah, and I seek refuge in Allah,

وَبِاللهِ اُحاوِلُ وَاُصاوِلُ وَاُكاثِرُ

wa billaahe ohaawelo wa osaawelo, wa okaasero

and by his help I seek Power and Dominance and Abundance

وَاُفاخِرُ وَأَعْتَزُّ وَأَعْتَصِمُ

wa ofaakhero wa a-a’tazzo wa a-a’tasemo.

and Pride and Dignity and Protection

عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَ إِلَيْهِ مَتابُ

a’layhe tawakkalto wa elayhe mataabe,

I rely upon Allah and towards Him is my return,

لا إِلهَ إِلّاَ اللهُ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ

laa elaaha illal laahul hayyul qayyoomo

there is no God except Allah, the Ever-Living and Self-Subsistent,

عَدَدَ الثَّرى وَالنُّجُومِ وَالْمَلائِكَةِ الصُّفُوفِ

a’dadas saraa wan nojoome, wal malaa-ekatis sofoofe,

as many as the particles of dust and the stars,and the well-queued Angels,

لا إِلهَ إِلّاَ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَريكَ لَهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظيمُ

laa elaaha illal laaho, wah-dahu laa shareeka lahul a’liyyul a’zeemo,

there is no God except Allah, He is Alone, He has no partner, He is the Mighty and the Great,

لا إِلهَ إِلّاَ اللهُ سُبْحانَكَ إِنّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمينَ

laa elaaha illal laaho subhaanaka innee kunto menaz zaalemeen.

there is no God except Allah, You are Glorious, indeed I was among the transgressors.

Imam Mahdi (A.S.) added the following text to the Supplication of Hareeq, which has reached us through Mohammad bin Salt al-Qummi (R.A.) :

أَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النُّورِ الْعَظيمِ

“O’ Allah! The Lord of the Great Light,

وَرَبَّ الْكُرْسِيِّ الرَّفيعِ

the Lord of the Elevated Throne,

وَرَبَّ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ

the Lord of the swollen Ocean,

وَمُنْزِلَ التَّوْراةِ وَالْإِنْجيلِ

the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel

وَرَبَّ الظِّلِّ وَالْحَرُورِ

and the Lord of the dark and the heat

وَمُنْزِلَ الزَّبُورِ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْعَظيمِ

the Revealer of the Psalms and the Great Qur’an

وَرَبَّ الْمَلائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبينَ

and the Lord of the Archangels,

وَالْأَنْبِياءِ الْمُرْسَلينَ

the Prophets and the Messengers.

أَنْتَ إِلهُ مَنْ فِي السَّماءِ وَ إِلهُ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ

You are worshipped in the sky and You are the Lord of those who live on Earth,

لا إِلهَ فيهِما غَيْرُكَ

there is no God in both of them except You,

وَأَنْتَ جَبَّارُ مَنْ فِي السَّماءِ

and You are Dominant over the dwellers of the sky

وَجَبَّارُ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ

and the Dominant over the dwellers of the Earth,

لا جَبَّارَ فيهِما غَيْرُكَ

none except You is Dominant in both these places,

وَأَنْتَ خالِقُ مَنْ فِى السَّماءِ

and You are the Creator of those in the Sky

وَخالِقُ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ

and the Creator of those living on Earth,

لا خالِقَ فيهِما غَيْرُكَ

there is no Creator in both these places except You,

وَأَنْتَ حَكَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّماءِ

and You are the Commander of the dwellers of Sky,

وَحَكَمُ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ لا حَكَمَ فيهِما غَيْرُكَ

and the Commander of the Dwellers of the Earth, there is no Commander in both these places except You.

أَللَّهُمَّ إِنّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَريمِ

O’ Allah, I beseech You in Your Noble Face,

وَبِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ الْمُنيرِ وَمُلْكِكَ الْقَديمِ

and in the Light of Your Luminous Face, and Your Eternal Kingdom,

يا حَيُّ يا قَيُّومُ

O’ Ever-Living! O’ Self Subsistent!

أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذي أَشْرَقَتْ بِهِ السَّماواتُ وَالْأَرَضُونَ

I beseech You in the Name of Your Name with which the heavens and the earth have lit up,

وَبِاسْمِكَ الَّذي يَصْلُحُ بِهِ الْأَوَّلُونَ وَالْآخِرُونَ

and in Your Name with which the past and the coming generations have become upright!

يا حَيّاً قَبْلَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ وَيا حَيّاً بَعْدَ كُلِّ حَيٍّ

O’ He who has been always alive before the existence of all living things, O’ He who shall be alive after the extinction of all living things,

وَيا حَيّاً حينَ لا حَيَّ وَيا مُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتى

O’ He who revives the dead ones and causes the living ones to die!

وَيا حَيُّ لا إِلهَ إِلّا أَنْتَ يا حَيُّ يا قَيُّومُ

O’ Ever-Living! There is no God save You, O’ Ever-Living, O’ Self-Subsistent.

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

I beseech You to bless Mohammad and his household,

وَارْزُقْني مِنْ حَيْثُ أَحْتَسِبُ

and to give me sustenance from where I reckon

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لا أَحْتَسِبُ

and from where I do not reckon,

رِزْقاً واسِعاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً

an extensive, Halal and healthy sustenance,

وَأَنْ تُفَرِّجَ عَنِّي كُلَّ غَمٍّ وَهَمٍّ

and to relieve me of all the sorrows and grieves,

وَأَنْ تُعْطِيَني ما أَرْجُوهُ وَآمُلُهُ

and to grant me all that I hope for and desire,

إِنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَديرٌ

indeed You have Power over all things.
